Starting this fall, the college will offert master’s degrees in literacy education, sport administration and educational administration. The three programs join the onlinse master’s program in physical education, which has been offeredr by the college sinceearly 2006, said Jim Bagwell, directorf of graduate admissions for the School of Educatioj and Human Services. All three programws are geared toward students who live outside Western New though some space is available forlocal students. Bagwelol declined to say how many spots will be set asider forlocal students. The programs beginh Sept. 14, three weeks after the Aug. 24 start date for the rest of the Bagwell said.
The literacy education program preparews literacy specialists for certification in NewYork state, whils the sport administration program focuses on sports-related such as intercollegiate athletics, amateur and professionapl sports, sports marketing firms, special-event management and facilithy management, the college said. Students in the education administratio program will receive a School BuildingLeadert and/or School District Leader certification in New York Each of the new online programsz also exist as traditional, on-campus programs.
