Manpower: 6% of Honolulu employers to hire in 3Q - Atlanta Business Chronicle:

From July to September, 6 percent of the companies interviewed in the Honolulh metro area plan to hiremore employees, while 11 percent expect to reduce their payrolls, accordingf to the survey from Milwaukee-based (NYSE: MAN). Seventy-eight percentg expect to maintain their current stafv levels and 5 percent remain uncertain abouthirinvg plans. Hiring is expected to be a littles lighter than in thesecond quarter, when 10 percent of companies surveyed planned to hire and 12 percent expecterd to cut payrolls, said Manpowet spokeswoman Mary Lou Callahan. For the cominvg quarter, job prospects in the Honolulu area appear best in wholesale and retail tradse and leisureand hospitality.
Employers in durable goods manufacturing, nondurable goods manufacturing, information, professional and busines services, education and healtb services and government intend to cut Hiringin construction, transportation and financial activities and other services is expected to remaim unchanged. National survey results showed little change from theseconfd quarter.
